Royals baseball team adds festive twist to pre-season game

KNOXVILLE – Today at 4 p.m. the JUTN Royals baseball team added a fun twist to the game of baseball. This particular game, held as a scrimmage, involved the team dressing up in various costumes while playing in character.

This pre-season game was a fun sneak peak of the season to come. The game included characters such as the Joker, Harambe, cows, Jesus, a minion, a hot dog, Donald Trump and many more.

Once each character on the two teams had a chance to hit the ball, the teams would alternate. Students and Faculty enjoyed the game of baseball mixed with the festive costumes and characters.

Head Coach, Ben Fair, thanked everyone that came out in support of the team and expressed the need for support amongst the student body and Faculty for the upcoming season.

“They have a special thing going for them,” he said.” These are 27 guys accomplishing one goal.”

The game concluded with food and fellowship in the pavilion.The first game of the season will take place at Point University in West Point, GA January 27 at 3:00 p.m.
