KNOXVILLE — Coffee House is around the corner and SGA and the Creative Art Council are looking for participants and art submissions.

Coffee House is an evening of inexpensive coffee, art, music and poetry.

Coffee House auditions will be  Feb. 13.  Sign up sheets and more information can be found in the Gally Commons, or by emailing Lexi Overcast at Lexi.Overcash@johnsonu.edu. Coffee House will be March 6 in the EAC lounge.

Not only is it a night to experience art but an outlet for students to share their talents.

Brooke Boling, Junior class secretary, said it is a great opportunity for students to showcase their ability  in a fun an supportive environment.

During last year’s event “one group did a Disney medley and everyone was singing along, which was a lot of fun,” Boling said.

Boling encouraged anyone who has not been a part of Coffee House before to audition.

“It’s a really low-key environment and everyone is there to just have fun and support their friends and fellow students,” Boling said. “If you’re interested, go for it.”

Brooke knows what it is like to be a part of Coffee House.

“I was incredibly nervous to participate, but I finally put myself out there and it was a fun experience and an awesome memory to make,” she said.

Students can submit art by emailing Emma Downer at Emma.Downer@johnsonu.edu by Feb. 12.
