Johnson University to hold annual Josh Teegarden 5K

KNOXVILLE— The annual Josh Teegarden Memorial 5K will be Saturday at Johnson University’s Tennessee campus.

The race costs $20 for students to enter and $25 for everyone else who wishes to participate.

The 5K Run/Walk is held each year to honor Josh’s “passion for helping others and furthering God’s Kingdom while also bringing faculty and students together,” Matt Shears, the director of the Alumni Association said.

The race provides scholarships for one missions student and one nonprofit management student. It combines the two things Teegarden loved the most—missions and running.

“[It is amazing] to see how much he impacted people when he was alive and how much he continues to impact people’s lives now,” Bill Teegarden Josh’s father said.

Check-in will begin at 8 a.m., and the race will begin at 9 a.m.
