Team Passion Elite starting AAU season, fundraising

KNOXVILLE— JUTN student, Trenton Flemming, has taken on the role as coach for the Team Passion Elite AAU Basketball club. Team Passion Elite serves male student-athletes in Knoxville and surrounding areas.

Team Passion Elite is a faith-driven, non-profit organization that prioritizes growth of male student-athletes through development and exposure in an elite basketball experience.

“What sets us apart from other AAU programs is the structure and order in which we operate,” Flemming said. “There is a standard of excellence and a standard of expectation in which you carry yourself on and off the court when you represent Team Passion Elite.”

Flemming is currently recruiting new players and raising funds to offset the team expenses. Because Team Passion Elite is a non-profit, there is a player fee set in place to cover AAU team expenses.

“We thrive off player fees—we are a non-profit so with that being said, it’s $300 to play with Team Passion Elite,” Flemming said. “That will include membership and insurance fees, uniforms, and tournament entry fees.

“We haven’t been blessed to get a sponsor or a donor yet but hopefully that is something we can look forward to in the future. We try to keep those fees as affordable and reasonable as possible,” Flemming added.

Team Passion Elite will be hosting four different teams: 8th grade, 9th grade and two 10th grade elite teams. The 8th grade team is close to being full and the 9th and 10th grade elite teams are looking to expand.

“Right now we are looking to see how many kids are going to be on each of our teams,” Flemming said.”We are at the phase where we are getting commits and getting parents and players that are interested and we are taking them to the next level.”

Team Passion Elite offers an atmosphere for student-athletes to gain coaching in areas of mental, physical and spiritual growth. Flemming said he hopes that students will use this AAU experience to get the necessary exposure and development in an elite environment.

“AAU is meant to develop your game, hone in your skills, get away from your high school program and really develop yourself as a player,” Flemming said.

Flemming is asking for donations to help support the mission of Team Passion Elite in creating development opportunities for student-athletes. To donate, click the link below.
