Kissimmee, Fla. – The Johnson University Florida Student Government Association is organizing concert-style events led by local church worship bands in the Florida Chapman Center Sept. 20, Oct. 11 (date recently updated) and Nov. 15.

On Sept. 20, JUFL alumni Micah Hardin will be playing with a band representing South Lake Christian Church in Groveland, Florida. Hardin is the worship minister of South Lake Christian Church.

JUFL alumni Mikey Sackrider and a band will come representing Community Christian Church from Fort Lauderdale on Oct. 18. Sackrider is the middle school pastor at Community Christian Church and graduated with a degree in youth and family ministries.

On Oct. 11., alumni Jackson Rodeffer, as well as Justin and Windy Cobuorne will come with several other musicians, representing Central Christian Church in St. Petersburg, FL.

Justin Cobourne is the student minister of Central Christian Church and Windy is a music teacher. Rodeffer is the church’s worship minister and has been a Resound alumni volunteer. As a student he was a speaker liaison in chapel and a New Creation member.

SGA Executive Secretary Joey Tuccillo is organizing Flare. He has recognized the event as an opportunity to increase church-campus relations.

“There’s a lot of students who go to Community Christian Church,” Flare said. “That’s a way we can connect with that church and that church can connect with us. All the time, people are looking for internships. That’s just another way that people can get plugged in.”

Each Flare event will be 10:00-11:00 p.m. in the Chapman Center gym. Click here for more information on Mikey Sackrider, Jackson Rodeffer and Justin and Windy Cobourne.
