Johnson University offers variety of intramural sports

KNOXVILLE – Johnson University has many options when it comes to intramural sports.

Intramurals are recreational sports organized by students at Johnson. Gabe Warden and Jack Zoppa are the co-directors responsible for coordinating each of the teams.

“In the past we’ve only done intramural basketball and flag football,” Warden said. “But this year we have incorporated intramural spike ball, intramural lifting. And we are looking to get volleyball and maybe some intramural gaming.”

Sign-up sheets for the varying teams will be at the ARC and in the lobby of Brown Hall. Those interested can also follow their Instagram, @juintramurals, for more information.

“It’s fun!” Warden said. “It’s a great way for people to get to know other people that they wouldn’t know. It’s good competition and it’s something to do on the weekend if you’re bored and have nothing to do.”

Flag Football is held on Mondays from 5 to 7 p.m. at the intramural field. There is also a Spike Ball tournament scheduled for October 13.
