KNOXVILLE – This ‘spooky’ event on Halloween will be for students, campus kids, and anyone else in the mood for a little Halloween fun. The majority of the event’s activities begin at 7 PM, but pumpkin launching starts at 6:30 PM.
No matter your preferred level of Halloween spookiness, the Orange and Black Affair will include opportunities for everyone to have a good time.
“There will be a lot of activities for everyone, adults and kids. For people who don’t like scary stuff we have things for them. and for those who enjoy scarier stuff, our haunted house is ‘It’ themed!” Nicole Clarke, SGA Major Events member, said.
The Orange and Black Affair will feature many Halloween themed events for all ages. There will be a costume contest, an ‘It’ themed haunted house, pumpkin launching, cookie decorating, and of course, trick or treating.
“We are trying to get more stuff for kids on campus,” Clarke said. “Which is why we’ve started on trick or treating.”
Trick or treating will be held in the Gally, and kids will be collecting candy from decorated, makeshift porches. There will be opportunities to get involved with the trick or treating and setting up porches.
“I think it’s good for students to have something fun to do on Halloween since not all of them can go home,” Clarke said.
Clarke hopes that the Orange and Black Affair will be a a good bonding experience for students, as well as give them a chance to feel a little more at home.
