SGA hosting benefit to help student in need, Jan. 27

KNOXVILLE – The Student Government Association is hosting a benefit dodgeball tournament on Jan. 27 at 6 p.m. in the ARC gym to raise money for freshman Abby Stuteville, who is in need of a kidney transplant.

Students and staff are encouraged to create their own dodgeball team of 6-8 people. There is a $2 entry fee per person to play.

The entry fee enters students’ and staff members’ names in a drawing to win door prizes. The winning team will receive a pizza party after the event.

Everyone is encouraged to come and watch the teams compete. There is a $2 admission fee, which enters attendees into a drawing to win door prizes.

A bake sale will also be held during the game.

All proceeds raised from this event will go to Abby Stuteville for all of her transplant-related costs.

She has still not found a kidney match. Anyone interested in becoming her donor must meet the following requirements:

1) Blood type O+

2) Must be within ages 18-50

3) Must be in good health (No history of cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, etc…)
