KNOXVILLE – Professional Bull Riders Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour stopped in Knoxville Saturday night and Joao Henrique Lucas came out on top.
In front of a record-setting crowd, Lucas, who is from Bastos, Brazil, experienced a career first as he earned an event win.
Lucas ended the first round runner-up with 87.5 points after riding atop “Big John.”He then scored 85.5 points atop “Gambler” during the championship round, naming him the night’s victor.
The 29-year-old earned $6,250 and 36.5 world points as a result of Knoxville’s competition. He also earned an invitation to the Unleash the Beast Tour, which is a competition of the elite. This event will take place February 7-8 at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California.
The next stop for the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour will be Youngstown, Ohio on Friday, February 7 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, February 8 at 7 p.m.
