Johnson University to host Founders’ Day, Thursday

KNOXVILLE – This week, Johnson University Tennessee will celebrate Founders’ Day with Spirit Week and a full day of events on Thursday for students, staff, and faculty to enjoy.

Alyssa Smith, member of the SGA Cabinet, has helped with Founders’ Day and Spirit Week planning

Johnson University’s Spirit Week will take place from Monday through Friday with varying themes and events. Founders’ Day will be filled with multiple activities in which the campus community is encouraged to particpate.

This year Johnson University’s Major Events Committee organized a packed schedule for Founders’ Day. Plans include the Preacher Grand Prix, a Slip ‘n Slide, kickball, “You Laugh You Lose” Challenge, a dunk tank, lots of snacks, free t-shirts, and more.

Alyssa Smith, a member of the SGA Cabinet, has assisted the Major Events Committee with brainstorming ideas for the event.

“I am most excited for the “You Laugh You Lose” Challenge,” says Smith. “Every year it is my favorite, event because I love hearing those jokes paired with friendly competition.”

Smith is most excited to have helped in providing students with a much needed break. With the semester coming to a close, stresses are high among the student body. Founders’ Day has been a way to provide a time of fellowship and fun in the midst of end-of-semester burnout. Smith and the rest of SGA encourage all students to participate in this break from school and, most importantly, have a great time.
